About American Association of Latino Orthopaedic Surgeons

American Association of Latino Orthopaedic Surgeons is dedicated as an organization to promote the care of Latino patients by Orthopaedic Surgeons and to promote greater diversity of professionals in our field. Somewhat contrary to what our name connotes, we aim to support both Latino Orthopaedic Surgeons and also those Orthopaedic Surgeons who care for the ever-expanding Latino population.

As an organization we run educational programs and outreach programs to help achieve greater representation of Latino Orthopaedic Surgeons in our profession.

We have plans to offer scholarship opportunities for students and to seek grants to promote research into musculoskeletal and health equity issues related to Latinx populations. Our aim is to increase representation of Latinx individuals in our profession. Consequently, we offer community outreach programs to increase the pipeline of Latinx students interested in Orthopaedic Surgery.
