Our Consulates are part of the Foreign Service of the Plurinational State of Bolivia, they have the function of protecting the rights of Bolivian citizens who are abroad, providing them with help and assistance. Its functions and powers are framed in the "Vienna Convention on Consular Relations" of 1963 and the "Law of the Foreign Relations Service of the Plurinational State of Bolivia - Law No. 465".

Among other things, the Consulates can help you:
- Orient yourself and connect with official institutions of the place for legal, medical, housing and educational cases.
- Communicate with your relatives for any emergency that puts your life or your rights at risk.
- Request the whereabouts of people to local authorities, for legal, humanitarian or family emergency requirements.
- Provide assistance in case of death , accompany the family in the follow-up of the judicial process, if applicable.
- Support in procedures for the repatriation of remains .
- Visit you if you are detained and follow up on the judicial process , ensure that you have a defense attorney who guarantees your fundamental rights.
