About Hispanic Women’s Network of Texas
The Hispanic Women's Network of Texas (HWNT) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization headquartered in Austin, TX, dedicated to advancing women in public, corporate, and civic life through comprehensive education and professional development programs. Since its establishment in 1986, HWNT has grown to include ten chapters across Texas—Austin, Corpus Christi, Dallas, El Paso, Fort Worth, San Antonio, and the Rio Grande Valley—creating a statewide network of over 800 volunteers committed to empowering Hispanic women. HWNT offers a diverse range of programs and initiatives designed to address the educational, economic, cultural, social, and legal needs of women in the community. Key programs include the Latinas in Progress Education Program, which has impacted 300 students and distributed $5 million in scholarships; Platicas Poderosas for professional development; the Estrella Awards recognizing outstanding achievements; and Café Con Leche networking events. Chapter-specific programs include Stand Up! and Be Inspired! development workshops, Día de los Muertos celebrations, scholarship initiatives, and regional networking opportunities. HWNT's statewide conference, board retreats, and volunteer opportunities provide members with pathways to cultivate leadership skills, build professional networks, and contribute meaningfully to their communities. Through collaboration and mentorship, HWNT members help each other achieve personal and professional goals while celebrating and promoting the positive values of Hispanic heritage across Texas.
