Latin American Association

The Latin American Association (LAA) in Atlanta, GA provides comprehensive direct services across five specialized focus areas designed to empower Latino individuals and families. Since 1972, the organization has developed expertise in Immigration Services, offering affordable legal immigration assistance and citizenship clinics for eligible green card holders. The Economic Empowerment program supports Latina entrepreneurs with tools and resources to launch, grow, and strengthen their businesses while advancing toward economic self-sufficiency. Youth Services deliver college advising, mentoring, summer programs, and the Latino Leadership Conference to prepare students for academic success. Family Stabilization & Well-Being services include emergency financial assistance for rent and utilities, domestic violence support with safety planning and shelter placement, and support groups for those affected by DACA, lupus, and diabetes. The Civic Engagement & Advocacy focus area provides community forums on immigration issues, health fairs, and citizenship drives. Beyond direct services, the LAA operates adult education programs featuring English, Spanish, and computer classes, plus community enrichment activities including Toastmasters clubs, Spanish literature book clubs, and language practice sessions. With service centers strategically located in Atlanta, Gwinnett County, and northwest Georgia (Dalton), the LAA serves approximately 40,000 individuals annually through its bilingual staff. The organization's 45,000-square-foot facility on Buford Highway serves as a gateway community center, hosting various organizations and providing resources that help Latino families navigate integration and achieve economic mobility in Georgia.
