About Permanent Mission of Chile to the United Nations
Represent Chile's position in matters of multilateral politics before the UN. The instances in which this work is carried out are the six thematic commissions that make up the General Assembly, the Security Council, the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), the International Court of Justice and the other organs that are part of the United Nations system. .
Objectives
- Highlight the central importance of a strengthened and effective organization , for collective action in the face of today's world challenges, the vast majority of which require multilateral action, while supporting the Secretary General's management.
- Highlight the commitment to democracy, Human Rights and the gender perspective, as essential bases of multilateral action.
- Support at the highest level global efforts to counteract climate change and ensure sustainable development at the global level.
- Contribute to revitalize the UN Economic and Social Development Agenda , cementing alliances that enhance our contribution to achieving the Millennium Development Goals (MDG).
- Validate the work of the UN in promoting international peace and security .
