San Diego La Raza Lawyers Association

San Diego La Raza Lawyers Association (SDLRLA) is a non-partisan professional organization dedicated to advancing Latino attorneys and the Latino community in San Diego County through strategic advocacy, political engagement, and comprehensive legal services. With over three hundred Latino and Latina lawyers in its membership, SDLRLA represents legal professionals across all specialty areas, including current and former state and federal court judges, magistrates, law professors, and government officials.

As one of 18 affiliate bar associations of the California La Raza Lawyers Association, SDLRLA leverages its extensive network to promote diversity on both the bench and bar throughout San Diego County. The organization's mission centers on advancing equality, empowerment, and justice through active service and advocacy initiatives. Members benefit from a vibrant professional community that fosters connections between legal professionals, business leaders, and community advocates who share a commitment to the Latino community's interests.

SDLRLA recognizes the critical importance of developing the next generation of legal talent. The organization provides comprehensive support to law students through mentorship programs, scholarships administered by the separate 501(c)(3) San Diego La Raza Lawyers Association Scholarship Fund, and networking opportunities. The association also hosts quarterly AMISTAD networking mixers and an annual Judiciary Reception that strengthen connections between the bench and bar. Founded in 1979 with just a handful of attorneys, SDLRLA has grown into a powerful force for legal representation and community empowerment in San Diego.
