Our mission is to foster intercultural understanding and to empower Latinxs to overcome the challenges they face and make their voices heard in the community.
For 27 years, The Hispanic Liaison/El Vínculo Hispano (EVH) has been a trusted civic institution. EVH was founded in 1995 by a Latina immigrant and were one of the first Latinx1 non-profit organizations to form in North Carolina to address the unique needs of a growing Hispanic community.
Our positive impact is visible and tangible. We help thousands of adults, youth and children adjust to life in the U.S., access the services they needed to succeed, and affirm their rights. We serve as a bridge between the Hispanic community and non-profits, government agencies and law enforcement.
We collaborate with dozens of non-profit and governmental agencies to respond to the needs of the Hispanic community by learning about Hispanic issues and culture, and revising policies or procedures that may prevent Hispanics from accessing services.
We envision EVH as a strong, community-centered organization grounded in Hispanic culture. We commit to being transparent and accountable to our community, volunteers, partners, donors, allies and supporters. We believe that social change is best achieved through collaboration, community empowerment and civic engagement.
