Founded on April 15, 2017, the Eta Chapter made history as the first Pi Lambda Chi chapter established outside of Colorado, earning the affectionate nickname "Texas Chis" among members and the UT Austin campus. The chapter operates with a comprehensive leadership structure designed to support member development and organizational excellence. Led by an Executive Board including President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Herstorian, and Standards Officer, the organization maintains focus on academic achievement, sisterhood, and community engagement. The chapter's founding members—Denise Morales, Yulissa Colunga, Alessandria Garza, Berenice Ramirez, Maria Ramirez, Adela Rena, and America Sierra—established a strong foundation rooted in Latina sisterhood and empowerment. At the University of Texas Austin, Pi Lambda Chi Latina Sorority serves as a vital student organization dedicated to fostering meaningful connections among Latina women on campus. The organization regularly hosts events and maintains active communication through The Golden Chronicle, keeping members informed and engaged.
